Are you the rainbow?
It’s been too long since I have written. No excuses. Just… life being life. I’m sure you can relate. Just know that I love you. This time is a time like no other. We have the opportunity to lift Consciousness by working together.
A Magical Morning
Today has been magical. Once I was up and dressed, I took the dogs for our usual morning walk. We were getting out a bit later than usual. The forecast called for sunny skies. As I crested the hill that opened my view to the mountains, a gorgeous scene presented itself, like a gift to my eyes: The mountains in all their majesty were crowned with a small, grey cloud. And out of that cloud stretched a band of color… the arm of a rainbow, reaching out to caress the mountains.
I grabbed the camera on my phone and began taking photos, afraid that the whole scene would quickly disappear.
But it didn’t. It stayed for nearly 30 minutes – growing stronger and brighter – as I continued down the hill and across the valley. I couldn’t keep myself from stopping every few feet to snap more photos.
The Promises of God
Back when I was doing missionary work, we used to say that rainbows represent the promises of God. Even today, many years later, I still experienced a lift of my spirit when I see a rainbow. It always feels like God is smiling down on me, as though the rainbow appeared just for my sake.
Can you allow that? That feeling of love – Divine Love – to soak into the fibers of your being? To know that you are loved, always? Try it now. Sit with eyes closed and allow yourself to feel that.
Standing in a Rainbow
When we came back home, the skies continued to be quite sunny… until I heard a rumble in the distance. From all the windows around me, the skies were clear… except the kitchen window. The sky outside the kitchen window was black as pitch. Another rumble, louder and longer this time.
I stepped out onto the porch. Rain began falling, each drop glittering like a diamond in the sunshine. “We are probably standing in a rainbow right now,” I thought.
Standing in a rainbow means you can’t see it, because you ARE it. And you know that right where you are, there is another beautiful gift for the folks across the valley to behold.
Sometimes we get to see the rainbow; sometimes we get to BE the rainbow.
Somewhere in there is a powerful metaphor.
Or perhaps, a gentle reminder…
When you are walking through life, feeling dejected or defeated or worried… look up. There is something or someone around you, just wanting to encourage you with a smile or with a stunning show of natural beauty.
And sometimes, when you least expect it – even when the weatherman says there is almost zero chance of rain in the desert today, the sky opens and showers you with glittering diamonds. As you enjoy this rare gift, you realize that the gift you are receiving is providing a glorious painting of light and color for those all around you, watching from a distance.
Much love,
Lori
